Among the characteristic gastronomic delicacies of the Croatian Podunavlje region, a special place is occupied by delicious homemade chesses derived from the milk produced from cows grazing on our local fields. Belje Gold, hard cow cheese, is stuffed into a natural casing (“katica”), and after being smoked on a beech wood, its characteristic golden colour is developed on the surface. Natural smoking process imparts to this unique cheese a unique teste of the region of its origin. Its shape similar to that of kulen, the renowned cured meat delicacy, Belje Gold represents a top-quality delicacy among cheeses.
